Monfre Basketball Academy sessions are up-tempo, high-energy workouts that combine elite training with competitive games to create the ideal environment for young players to expand their skills, encourage their creativity, and enhance their love of the game. Each session starts with break down skill work, moves into small-sided competitions (1 on 1, 3 on 3, etc.), and then finishes with controlled scrimmages designed to allow young players to experiment, fail, correct, and ultimately learn and improve.

Players selected to participate must demonstrate a combination of an advanced skill set, an appetite to compete, and an ability to work outside their comfort zone. Players will be challenged to take ownership over their own development and get the most of the opportunity to battle against and alongside some of the area’s top players.

Monfre Basketball Academy provides the camaraderie of an in-season team, the practice continuity of an experienced coaching staff, and the competition consistency of a talented roster…without the hassles and headaches of the AAU circuit.  All participating players must have one aligned goal: GET BETTER.

.

The Academy generally runs each fall for 7-8 sessions and are split by age groups (6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys). We also run a Junior Academy  for 3rd-5th graders (more information HERE).

LEARN

The core of Monfre Basketball is our contemporary skills curriculum developed from thousands of individual and team training sessions. We continue to innovate as the game changes and also find new ways of teaching and explaining concepts to young players. Learn more about our skill philosophy here

COMPETE

The best way to improve rapidly is to compete against live defense (Bones Over Cones!). Following our skill work, we compete in 1 on 1, 3 on 3, and 5 on 5.  Teams change each session so players compete against and team up with a variety of new players. Defense intensity is emphasized so that players can develop in realistic gameplay.

CONNECT

Our academy draws players from all over Wisconsin. On any given night we have dozens of programs and schools represented. It's not only about experiencing different styles of play. Boys become better players and better men by getting to know and connecting with players from different walks of life and backgrounds. Teammates for the night...friends for life.

ENJOY

Basketball can teach many life lessons, none of which is more important than realizing you can have a lot of fun and work extremely hard at the same time. We take pride in our program's high return rate each year, and the secret to that success is ensuring players are having a blast.

MENTOR

We staff our academy with some of the top high school players in the area.  The guidance and example they set creates the most powerful motivational tool available: Intergenerational Mentorship. Our coaches demonstrate what it takes to be successful at the next level.

LEGACY

We've been fortunate to have some talented young athletes come through our academy who have gone on to play at the highest levels of the game.  But more importantly, we've created a culture that helps young players become successful both on and off the court. Lessons in competing, teamwork, and sportsmanship can transcend the game and last a lifetime.
