Shooting Instruction
We offer individual shot analysis and instruction on a very limited basis. We utilize interactive video review with the player to maximize results. It is critical that players visually see the needed corrections and are able to recognize the results following training. As with our skill work, our shooting instruction is designed to provide players a road map to take ownership of their own shot.

What To Expect:

EVOLUTION
While there are certain optimal shooting foundations, there is no one-size-fits-all development path for young shooters. Forcing an undersized 11 year old to launch one-handed shots from 20 feet will only replace a two-handed shot with new problematic habits. We focus on techniques that the player is developmentally ready for and that will (1) help their shot consistency now and (2) be a building block for their eventual optimal shooting technique.

FOUNDATIONS
No two shooting techniques are identical. There are various approaches that players may use depending on their own comfort level, the types of shots they tend to get, and their current size and strength. Instead of forcing specific techniques, we focus on universal foundations that can help any shot: balance, rhythm, set point, efficient footwork, leg power, hand placement, pure release, and minimizing variation. We help players explore the techniques that guide them through those foundations and help them build their optimal shooting form that delivers consistent success.

EMPOWER
Ultimately, it is up to each player to determine how far they want the game to take them. Coaches, parents, and trainers cannot put in the work and effort on their behalf. We design our shooting workouts to give the player a roadmap for success based on drills and workouts they can do on their own. No one leaves without hoops homework.
